Soyou want to
know what an Orwellian society will look like?Look no further than the Northside Independent School District outside
of San Antonio, Texas. This past week,
the school board unanimously voted to implant radio frequency chips on student
identification cards so all students in two of its schools can be
"tracked".If it is
"successful", the school board intends to implement the system in all
of its schools.
The story speaks for itself. Here is the link.Ostensibly, this is being done because school
reimbursement is based on attendance. And they can't handle attendance a normal way because of what? For reasons determined by the school
board,it will generate more than enough
money to cover the cost of the system which is around $600,000.00. The story indicated that "some"
privacy concerns were raised, but it was barely a ripple.
Here is what we are teaching our children. It's okay to track through ID cards. Can a chip to track us on our drivers
licenses be too far away? Once this kind of tracking is accepted, that's
it.It will pop up everywhere. There are always financial incentives to
justify something that is about as un-American as can be.You can even give safety justifications for
young children.If you fear kidnapping,
why not implant a chip into all children behind their right ear. Oh nevermind...that's what we do to dogs. This is scary stuff. This is
totalitarian stuff.This is 1984
stuff. Is this what technology has done
to us?Just because you can do something
doesn't mean that you should.
It's not enough that we are monitored, video taped,
watched through street lights with cameras and speakers to tell you what you
are doing wrong, photographed while driving, strip searched trying to board an
airplane...we have to be tracked with a chip?
I have never been a fan of the ACLU; but if this stuff
keeps up...I'll become a card carrying member. When the home of that little Cuban boy was
raided like Nazis in the middle of the night by the immigration folks to steal
that little boy from his family to send back to Communist Cuba, I joined the
NRA.This is our freedom. This is our liberty. This is America. There is no place for draconian, Orwellian
behavior by a bunch of do gooders who know what is best for you.
These anal retentive bureaucrats will destroy our
country.Enough is enough.Stand up, America, for freedom.
The Law of the Sea Treaty, which has been ratified by just about every other country in the world but the United States, is currently making its way through the Senate. Here is a rule of thumb…if everybody else wants it so badly, its got to be bad for the United States. This treaty is no exception to the rule. As in all things Obama, don’t listen to what he says, look at what he does. In typical Orwellian style, he is calling black-white, up-down, and day-night.
Open shipping lanes has been international law for hundreds of years. Right now, it is the United States that polices those shipping lanes. Under this treaty, the United States would cede its enforcement rights to the United Nations. Really? Under the treaty, the best interests of the United States would be reduced to one vote in a committee in which Iran and Venezuela might be sitting. Why would we do this? To add insult to injury, the cost of the enforcement would remain squarely with the United States.
In addition, there would be a 1 – 8% royalty fee on any oil drilled by the United States outside of the current 200 mile territorial limit to be paid to the United Nations.
In addition, the treaty would cede the right to regulate oceanic environment concerns to an international tribunal in Germany. This includes atmospheric conditions…you get the picture. It is a back door global warming treaty which would actually give this commission authority over out power plants. And the decisions of the commission will be non-appealable in United States courts.
This is what the Obama administration wants. This is what progressive globalists think about you and our country. This makes Jimmy Carter’s giving away the Panama Canal look like a walk in the park. This, my friends, is dangerous.
This is just one of many of these treaties floating around Washington right now, pushed by Obama and his cronies. Do you agree with this?
Folks, once it’s done, it can’t be taken back. Do you agree with this?
Have you noticed lately that everything in our life seems to
be dark? My wife noticed it the other
night watching previews for movies and television shows as well as commercials
for all sorts of things. It used to be
we were optimistic, and it was reflected in our ads and movies. Now everything is dark and foreboding. Gone are the sitcoms that used to make us
feel good and show us how life should be.
They have been replaced by faux reality shows showcasing the worst of
human nature and life shouldn't be.
Even the movies are downers.
Dark and black computer generated sets of a post industrial world, or a
revisionist grim view of Grimm Fairy Tales.
Have you seen the ad for the new version of Snow White? Have you seen the new movie about Red Riding
Hood? Have you seen the television show
called Once Upon a Time? And lets not
even go to the Vampire books, movies and television programs culminating with
the release this week of Tim Burton’s and Johnny Depp’s version of Dark
Shadows. What ever happened to Thumper saying "if you can't say anything nice, don't say nothing at all."
The truth of the matter is that the only uplifting
commercials are the ones currently being run by Dow Chemical. Is Dow Chemical the only true source of
optimism in America today? What have done to ourselves?
When the millennium occurred we were filled with
optimism. The Soviet Empire was
gone. The promise of the digital age was
in full force. Homeownership was on the
rise. Prosperity in America abounded,
and we looked forward to a future with a peace dividend balancing the
budget.
Now where is the hope?
Instead we have despair. The
space program, once the shining beacon of United States prowess and technological
achievement is no more. We have to bum
rides with the Russians to get to the space shuttle. There is a burgeoning private space industry
underway, but will it be too little too late?
Putting a man on the moon was America’s achievement. We did it as a people and have reaped
technological and economic benefits way beyond those what those working on
those Mercury rockets could imagine.
Now we have people abandoning United States citizenship.
1800 American citizens, some of our most financially successful, have become
citizens of Singapore. The Canadian
Dollar dipped below parity with the American dollar last week. We have lost our triple A credit rating. We are fighting over economic scraps rather
than creating an ever expanding economic pie.
We have strangled ourselves with guilt and recriminations. We are pointing an accusatory finger at the
rich like the peasants in St. Petersburg, Russia during the Bolshevik
Revolution.
America needs to find its way back to the light. It needs to begin making movies of hope,
television shows of challenge, stories of success. It’s time put away the dark images of
dungeons, dragons, and post apocalyptic worlds that are dominating the
airways. It is time to replace faux
celebrity with real achievement.
I don’t like America the dark. We need to change this.
So Scott Brown, the Republican male center fold star, ran for Senate to fill "Ted Kennedy's" Massachusetts seat in 2010, and won. Preppy and somewhat independent minded, Brown set the political world on its ear as his brand of moderate Republicanism blew into Washington from the bluest of blue states on the wind of anti Obamacare sentiment. The Democrats and the media were incensed. After all, that was "Ted Kennedy's seat." To hell with the people. What to do? What to do?
After a careful search for the proper politically correct, racially correct, and demographically correct Hispanic that wasn't white, the Dems settled on uber liberal Harvard Law professor and Democratic Party activist Elizabeth Warren. Hurrah. Ms. Warren will save the day. Perfect in every way. Well...maybe not Hispanic. But things were going along swimmingly in the land of the limousine liberals. Maybe she wasn't Hispanic. Maybe she wasn't black. And...she was the proper type of liberal woman of the NOW variety; not the Sarah Palin type of conservative woman who must be genetically defective. She was a blonde haired blue eyed wonder.
Well, not exactly. Apparently she is an Indian...wait a minute...I mean native American. It turns out that for a period of over ten years she marked her race as "Native American," a humdinger of a politically correct minority, including on her application form for her job at Hahhhvahhhd. Harvard, in turn, has since listed her as a minority employee...something near and dear to liberals' hearts and an absolute liberal essential.
There is one small problem...she is not a native American. LOOK AT HER. Well, she might be. Family lore says if they go back far enough they can find a great great great great great grandmother that MAY have been Native American...or not. And even if she was, it would only make Ms. Warren 1/32nd Native American. I haven't checked the liberal definition of what makes a Native American. Maybe in the wonderful world of liberal love of "diversity" and "protected classes" she may qualify whether she actually is or isn't. Is like some sort of racial purity test? Seriously?
But the consensus in the press, even the liberal Boston press, she is NOT a minority. And it puts these folks in a quandary as to why Ms. Warren lied. The most obvious reason is she thought it would help her get the job at Hahhhvahhhd. She denies it, claiming that she really didn't lie. She was only calling on her family story line. But mostly she did it because she thought it would be "fun" and that she would meet interesting people. Oh, it must be alright then. I guess it's okay to elect someone who can't tell the truth about her ethnic background.
The mainstream media is keeping quiet about this tawdry mess with a smarmy laugh that the whole matter is irrelevant. After all, it IS "Ted Kennedy's" seat and belongs to them. Of course there is at least some symmetry in that argument. She says she's an Indian too. And Ted Kennedy...driving off that bridge and killing that girl...he's a liar too.
